ABOUT STEVE...

When it comes to struggling with weight, Steve understands. He was overweight in his youth and remembers dieting at an early age. After joining the wrestling team and lifting weights in his garage as a teenager, he started to experience first hand what exercise can do for someone's body and self esteem. He was hooked.

Steve began taking his weight training further and began amateur bodybuilding in 1993, placing 1st in twelve of nineteen body building competitions over the next fourteen years. Although Steve recognizes most people don't want to necessarily look like a bodybuilder, his personal experience with weight training and dieting gave him the desire to help others and learn more. Steve attended Florida State University for Exercise and Nutrition and graduated with honors from Florida A&M University's Physical Therapy Program. Together, Steve and his wife Bonnie, are in the fitness industry together where they own/operate Longevity Fitness Club & Spa in Vero Beach, Florida. They are not only helping people get healthy, they are living their dream and loving every minute of it.

Letters to Steve

It's true-Good things do happen to great people. There are no words to express my gratitude for all you've done. Thank You! Heather

I just know that you have not only impacted the lives of those on the show, but I know you will affect many more who are watching the show at home. I know that you and Bonnie have already affected our group at ROW, and I can't thank you guys enough. I'm so glad we have the support of you and Bonnie. You guys are the greatest!! Gabbi

I have been debating since last week if I want to attempt my own Fat March. 500 miles in 10 weeks right? When I first thought about doing I was like oh that'll be easy....then it hit me.....noooo that's 10 miles a day, 5 days a week in addition to my daily workout. I'm afraid of failing and I'm afraid it will be to hard....so I think that just means one thing....Time to Git R Done.....SOOOOO starting this Tuesday I will start my 5 week journey of walking 500 miles. I know it won't be as cool as being able to do it on TV and be faced with challenges but it will be a huge accomplishment for me. AND THINK OF THE CALORIES I WILL BE BURNING!! :)  I am excited, nervous of failing, but excited!  Thanks Steve for challenging Me! John

"I think Steve was more of a motivation than he or I realized! I lost 50lbs with his help! My daughter's friends think she has a buff dad. I can wear a 34-inch waist now. My wife isn't complaining either. Steve and Bonnie really made us think about what and how we eat! THANK YOU! (and you can add us to your makeover list!)"  Kenny

I wanted to thank Steve and Bonnie for coming to the "Biggest Losers" class at the Christ by the Sea church awhile ago. The information you both provided at the meeting was very helpful and the gym membership got me back on a better fitness track.  I was concerned about my blood glucose levels the past few years.  It's been steadily going up and this year fell into the "pre-diabetes" range.  Since joining the gym, I lost 5 pounds, added several aerobics classes to my walking routine and cut back on the red wine.  A couple weeks ago, the blood glucose level went from 104 to 80 - I was so psyched!! Chris

You are such an inspiration to so many people and I just want you to know that I think that what you do to make a difference in this world is wonderful! You are truly a remarkable person. Michelle

"I have to say that we have been in Vero since 1990 and have seen and watched this area grow. You and Steve, and Longevity, are a wonderfully POSITIVE addition and asset to this community. I find myself waiting while listening to Christian FM to hear your spots, as do so many of my girlfriends. We also sooo enjoy your appearances on the local TV station. You are obviously very passionate about fitness and healthy wellbeing for yourself and individuals in our area. It shows in everything you do and for that I say BRAVO! Hats off to you both for having enough guts to do what you do with such joy and positive spirit. We admire you both! Thanks again for "being you" to all who know you!" Vicki.

Steve, of Longevity Fitness Club & Spa, is now Co-Host & Trainer for 'Fat March', ABC's new weight loss reality show.

Steve and Bonnie responded to a nationwide casting call along with thousands of other hopefuls. This required turning in a DVD that captured both Steve's training and his personality including hobbies, friends and family. Days and weeks after sending in a casting video, pictures, applications, interviews...you name it - we got the call. Steve would be America's next face of fitness! He flew out just a few days later and the rest is history!

Together, Steve and, his wife of 13 years, Bonnie have offered their community health and diet tips on the local television Channel, "The Health Tip of the Day" on Christian FM and provide weekly health and fitness articles in the local newspaper. As the couple spreads their wings, the main focus will always be trying to make a positive impact on others.
